Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites

Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites

Crispy on the outside, tender in the middle, and coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce — these Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites are dangerously addictive. Cubes of salmon get a quick seasoning, crisp up beautifully in the air fryer, and are tossed in the classic bang bang sauce made from mayo, sweet chili, and sriracha. Serve them as an appetizer, over rice, or tucked into tacos for a dinner everyone will ask for again.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs salmon fillet, skin removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sriracha, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Cooked rice or salad, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon: Toss the salmon cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Make the bang bang sauce: Whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice. Taste and adjust the heat to your liking.
  3. Air fry the salmon: Arrange the salmon in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 7 to 9 minutes, shaking halfway, until crisp at the edges and just cooked through.
  4. Toss and garnish: Transfer the hot salmon bites to a bowl, drizzle with most of the bang bang sauce, and toss gently to coat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately over rice or salad, with the remaining sauce on the side for dipping.

Pro tip: Keep the salmon cubes in a single layer with space between them — crowding the basket steams them instead of crisping them. Cook in batches if needed; it is worth it.
