Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or French loaf
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast, diced
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Hollow the bread: Slice the top third off the baguette lengthwise and scoop out most of the soft interior, leaving a 1/2-inch shell.
  3. Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the diced chicken with paprika, salt, and pepper, then cook 5–6 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  4. Add the shrimp: Add the chopped shrimp and half the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook 2–3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink. Remove from heat.
  5. Make the filling: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, Italian seasoning, and parsley. Fold in the warm chicken and shrimp mixture.
  6. Stuff the loaf: Spoon the filling generously into the hollowed baguette, mounding it slightly. Replace the bread top.
  7. Garlic butter finish: Stir the remaining garlic into the melted butter and brush it all over the outside of the loaf.
  8. Bake until golden: Bake 18–22 minutes until the crust is crisp and golden and the cheese is bubbling at the edges.
  9. Rest and slice: Let rest 5 minutes, then slice into thick pieces and serve warm.

Pro tip: Warm the cream cheese to room temperature before mixing so the filling blends silky-smooth with no lumps.
