Ingredients
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Season and sear the steak: Pat the steaks dry and season generously with salt, black pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove and let rest.
- Sear the shrimp: In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the shrimp, season with paprika, onion powder, and the remaining Cajun seasoning. Cook 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Make the creamy Cajun sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the minced garlic and diced red bell pepper; sauté for 2-3 minutes. Pour in the heavy cream, stir in any remaining Cajun seasoning, and simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Combine and simmer: Return the shrimp to the skillet and spoon the creamy sauce over them. Simmer for 1-2 minutes so the flavors meld. Taste and adjust with salt and black pepper.
- Serve: Plate the steaks and top with the shrimp and plenty of creamy Cajun sauce. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
